THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE IDEAL BIRTHDAY PRESENT FOR THE FANS IF HE'D ALLOW HER TO BE APART OF YASHJI MOVIE, IT SEEM AS IF TO THIS DAY SHE STILL CANT MAKE DECISIONS FOR HER SELF WHICH IS SAD... ..OR MAYBE SHE SCARED BECAUSE OF WHAT HAPPENED TO MADHURI AND THE AJA NACHELA COMEBACK,IN CLOSING I HOPE SHE KNOWS WHAT SHE DOING........
I dont think Boney didnt allow her or anything else. What I think is that either one of the two things: 1- Maybe Sridevi wanted her comeback to be from her own home Production then maybe she will accept other offers including Yash Chopra's offer 2- Or maybe she wasnt keen on the project offered, maybe the role did not got her intesrested enough to comeback.
I dont think it has to do anything with Madhuri's comeback failure as Sridevi's comeback venture was being talked about since 1999 when Madhuri was still working.
Plus here we are taking about Sridevi who was one of the most risk taking actresses.
I a big fan of Sridevi but her decisions are really not ptactical many times. Imagine, she refused a movie like Beta. Imagine where her career would have been with 1 super hit like Beta in 1992. It would have shut the mouth of media who were after her life.
she is is the only diva who has proved her versatility as an actor...
here goes the list: 1>sadma----still remains a benchmark portrayal of a child-woman...lesson to be learnt for all actors as to what is constrained acting....
2>chandani---love stories were never same after dis....she immortalized the character of chandani as a girl dressed in white .....dancing in the mountains of Switzerland....
3>lamhe---the switch from a older woman to a teenager was so effortlessly portrayed by sridevi ...she looked gorgeous in Indian as well as western wear....no wonder the moors were singing ...
4>gumrah--she exposed the dramatic aspect of hers as an actor...mahesh bhatt did extract a memorable performance out of her.....
5>nagina/nigahein---she was just the true blue snake woman...her facial expressions were just too good...her postures...no one could have played dis role better than sri ..it was tailor made for her...
6>Mr.India---glamour and comedy at her best..she played Charlie Chaplin to the hilt....it was just too good..shekhar kapur after all .and the mesmerizing hawa hawaiii...the blue color chiffon clad sri ,the movie was bound to be a hit.
7>chaalbazz---she proved that she could pull off a remake and make it look better than the original....again a superb metamorphosis as a simple sari clad girl to a leather clad Michael jacksoni....
8>khuda gawah---one more double role,...but this time a mother and a daughter ..she proved she could hold her own in front of the amitabh bachan..she carried off the look of a kiblah princess very well.
9>laadla----the corporate woman, the attitude....the dialogue...u understand u better understand....she was sophistication personified....
10>judaii--again she was back to her tofha and suhagan days...a middle class housewife she effortlessly slipped into the role with her WOI TOH....she proved that one doesnt have 2 be in an arty film to prove your caliber as an actress.
She is the only actress to have been successful in all of the regional languages of India- Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada. At one point she was regarded as the "No.1" actress in all regional cinema, a feat which has not been attained by any other actor or actress in India.

The story of the Sally Field film Not Without My Daughter had a strong effect on Sridevi, who remade the film as he first production Shakti starring Karisma Kapoor. Sridevi was originally signed to star, but she backed out when she became pregnant with her second child. Kajol was then approached, but she too became pregnant and Karisma Kapoor was eventually signed on for the lead.
She was the first choice of movie Lekin also, produced by Lata M.

give her some credit ppl! she's not some kid who can't make decisions. how do u think she's come so far. she's done so much with her life. she has come such a long way from being a child artiste to a Diva. wtf are u guys going on about?!
is'nt it possible that she was not convinced to dothe film coz it was'nt good enough. why should she grab anything like others who are desperate. its better she takes her time rather than work in something not good enough for her. the expectations are so high where she is concerned. its not the same with other actors.
and if she refused Beta. so what? was a crap movie anyhow. who remembers it? better to do 10 lamhe's than 1 beta. ppl still recall lamhe fondly. she felt at the time that she was doing too many movies with Anil kapoor. she is quite gutsy and unafraid to say "No". i think thats quite cool
Wow i never knew she was offered the role of Dimple in Lataji's movie Lekin. She would have been fantastic.I recently watched the movie and to this day it remains one of my favourites, but just imagine the effect it would have if Sri had worked in it. But I have faith in Sri maybe there was something in the role that didn't appeal to her. Nevertheless we still love her and wish her all the happiness. BTW MANY HAPPY RETURNS OF THE DAY TO SRIDEVI
oh GOD dnt make sridevi an AGED lady like other actreses..She is so a queen....
I din know that sridevi refused BETA's role...what if she refused?with that refusal also she was the queen...now tooooo......Pls come back sri..pls....
